This policy covers ccsklaw.com, the website of CCSK Law LLC. It explains what we collect when you visit, what we do with it, and how to reach us if you want it removed.
The short version
We collect very little. What we do collect, we use to answer your question or to send you something you asked for. We do not sell it. We do not rent it. We do not hand it to advertisers. If you want your information deleted, tell us and we will delete it.

What you send us
If you fill out the contact form on this site, you give us your name, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you write in the message box. That goes to the case management system our office uses, where our attorneys and staff review it.
If you sign up for our newsletter, you give us your email address. We keep that in Mailchimp, the service we use to send email.
If you leave a comment on an article, WordPress records your name, your email address, and the IP address you commented from.
You choose what to send us. Nothing on this site requires you to create an account or set a password.
Please do not send confidential details through this website
Sending us a message through this website does not make us your attorneys. Until we agree in writing to represent you, we cannot treat what you send as protected by attorney-client privilege, and there may be a conflict we do not know about yet.
So keep your first message general. Tell us the kind of help you are looking for and how to reach you. Save the specifics for a conversation, when we can tell you where you stand. There is no charge for that first conversation.
What the website records on its own
Like most websites, ours keeps a record of visits. That record includes your IP address, the type of browser and device you used, which pages you looked at, and which site you came from.
This happens at two levels. Our hosting provider, GoDaddy, keeps standard server logs. Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site to keep it fast and to block automated attacks, also processes this information.
We also use Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they found us. It tells us an article was read 400 times. It does not tell us who read it. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser. This site uses three, and none of them follow you anywhere else.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not run tracking pixels. Nothing on this site follows you to another website or builds a profile of you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will keep working.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it or trade it. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it to target ads at you anywhere.
What you send us stays inside the firm and with the small number of services listed below that help us run the office.
Who else handles your information
A handful of companies process information on our behalf so the website and the office can function. Each of them is bound by its own agreement with us to use that information only to provide the service.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a subpoena or a court order.
Email and how to stop it
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we send you email until you tell us to stop. Every message has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are off the list. You can also call the office or reply to any message and ask.
We do not send text messages from this website.
Asking us to delete your information
Email us or call the office and ask. We will remove what we can and tell you if something has to stay, which occasionally happens when a file relates to legal work we have already done.
You can also ask us what we have. We will tell you.
How long we keep things
Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages stay in our case management system for as long as we may need them, and are handled under the same rules that govern our client files.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that we treat what you send us the way we treat everything else clients tell us.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us something, call the office and we will remove it.
Links to other websites
Some of our articles link to outside sites, such as Indiana government pages or a court website. Once you click through, you are on their site and under their privacy policy, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website handles information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
